Recently Completed Projects

400 Gb/s DR4 QSFP-DD with Marvell DSP

  • Utilizes 4 integrated parallel 1310nm Silicon Photonics (Si-Pho) 100 Gb/s PAM-4 modulators driven directly by the Marvell DSP
  • Receiver path is a 4 channel PD array coupled to a fiber array and connected to a 4 channel TIA
  • QSFP-DD Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) compliant housing with MTP/MPO-12 optical connector
  • 10 layer PCB with AlN insert for mounting the Si-Pho IC, laser CoC, lens, and isolator
  • Wire bonding from the PCB to the Si-Pho IC and to the laser CoC

800 Gb/s DR8 OSFP with Quad TOSA, no DSP

  • Utilizes multiple interconnected rigid and flex PCBs to implement the 800 Gb/s DR8 LPO design (no DSP)
  • Dual TOSA supplies two 1310nm paths which are spliced into the MZ modulators of the Si-Pho and used for the eight 100 Gb/s PAM-4 lanes
  • Optical fiber routing is managed on the top layer of the PCB with 3D printed custom fiber spools
  • 32-bit ultra-low power Arm Cortex microcontroller with custom Firmware is used to provided the CMIS 5.0 interface and manage all the on-board components

800 Gb/s DR8 OSFP with AlN insert and Marvell DSP

  • IEEE 802.3bs specification compliant and OSFP MSA compliant form factor
  • Marvell DSP used to drive 8 parallel 1310nm Si-Pho modulators whose optical signal is provided by 2 laser CoC's
  • AlN insert utilized for the 10 layer PCB to  minimize temperature related variations for the optical interfaces
  • Wire bonding to the Si-Pho IC, laser CoC's, and TIA
  • CMIS 5.0 compliant Firmware interface
